    phpBB 2.0.11 Update

    <div style="color: #000080; padding: 2px;">phpBB 2.0.11 Update</div><div style="font-size: .9em; margin-bottom: 12px; border-bottom: 1px solid #000080; padding: 2px; border-top: 1px solid #000080;">Sunday, November 28, 2004 by Kevin Stange</div><div style="font-size: 1em;">It has come to my attention that a number of sites using phpBB2 are being exploited due to various bugs in older versions of the forum software.

At this time, I highly recommend you update your forum software to version 2.0.11. This can be accomplished as follows:

    1) Find out what version of phpBB you have. You can find this information somewhere on your forum index page.
    2) Download the update package.
    3) Unzip all four directories and unzip the zip file version_to_2.0.11.zip where version is the version of phpBB you have now. Put all these files in a folder on your computer, preserving the directory tree.
    4) Upload all the files to the /phpBB2/ directory, or whatever directory your forum software is in. Overwrite any files that need to be replaced.
    5) Go to your forum and run the installation as in this example: http://simgames.net/phpBB2/install/update_to_2011.php
    6) Now delete the install and contrib directories you uploaded to your forum directory.

If you need any assistance with this update, please don't hesistate to contact support.

You will need to update your phpBB2 installation even if you install a new copy via your control panel. The current release of H-Sphere does not include version 2.0.11. phpBB 2.0.11 will be provided by H-Sphere once we upgrade to the final release of H-Sphere 2.4.2, which is due sometime in the near future.</div>
