    Playing both Sims?

I've yet to get The Sims 2, I have to wait for Christmas. :( But when I get it and install it, will I still be able to put in the Makin Magic CD and play with my old sims from The Sims 1? Because if not, then it's usless to ask for the only Sims 1 pack I dont have for Christmas too. Well thanks!

The Sims 2 is a completely new game. The new game is basically the same as the original sims game but the two versions are not compatible with each other. If you know how to play the game form experience at playing The (Original) Sims then you will have little trouble learning to play the new version The Sims 2 But you must appreciate that all the stuff that you have saved that is connected with the orignal game will not be usable in the new version. This includes, skins, meshes, clothes, objects, furniture, walls, floors, lots, houses ... everything! All your Sims 1 families are not gonna live in the Sim 2 environment.

But ... there is nothing to stop you having both versions of the game on the same computer. If you wann play both versions ... its a free country ... ;)

I just wanted to say that although I'm really enjoying sims2 I will continue to play sims1. Until more content is added..and that could be a long time..TS1 is still worth buying. In fact..if it takes more than a year for the next TS2 game to be released I'm sure I'll revert to TS1 for most of the time. I'm soooo spoiled that the few choices available to play around with on TS2 is frustrating me to no end! lol

nothing from the sims 1 is compatible with the sims 2. including Makin Magic. but you can satill leave sims 1 installed and play it long with the sims 2. neither will interfere with each other.
