Pleasantview History Can anyone tell me about what happened in Pleasantview before Nightlife? I am getting confused how Don is related to Dina, how Bella disappeared, where does Cassandra fit in, that kind of stuff. Any help appreciated!
WELL, in The Sims 1, there were two premade families called the Pleasants and the Goths. The Pleasants had a son named Daniel, who is now the head of the TS2 Pleasant family. The Goths were Mortimer, Bella, and Cassandra. Now in TS2, Mortimer is an old man, Cassandra has grown into an adult and is looking to start her own family (with the wrong man, though), and Bella was abducted by aliens and dropped off in Strangetown with no memory of her previous life. You can find her there as a townie. Before she was abducted, she and Mortimer had another kid, Alexander, who is now a child. Mortimer, being the lonely old coot he is, went looking for love in the wrong places, and is now romancing Dina Caliente, one of the two Caliente sisters living in Pleasantview. The Caliente family has always interested me. Dina was priorly married to Michael Bachelor, Bella Goth's brother (I think.) He died though, and now she is looking for another rich old man to marry. Nina is a Romance sim, involved, as all the other women in the neighborhood seem to be, with Don Lothario. Don is the casanova of Pleasantview. So far he's got three lovers--Dina Caliente, Nina Caliente, and Cassandra Goth, who he is engaged with. And I think that covers it. Hope I answered your question correctly...it was a little confusing.
AHH Person I believe you left out a little minor detail, supposedly Bella was on Don's balcony when she was abducted by aliens. What was she doing there? We may never know. Ruth
Thanks guys. Incidentally, doesn't Cassandra have a memory of Bella being abducted? And is it true that the Calientes are related to aliens. Since the story started in TS1 and continued in TS2, would we have to wait until TS3 to know what will happen? Or would we find the answer in the next expansion? and BTW, did the characters and storyline in each community change at all between expansions? Like from University to Nightlife, for example? I can't quite remember. Do the other two have storylines too? If so, an overview? Thanks!
No, the storylines didn't change between expansions. Usually new families and stories are added in expansions You may also remember, from The Sims 1, the Newbies (how could you not!?). Bob and Betty are in fact in the game, they're just dead Brandi Broke is Bob and Betty's daughter. You can see this in her family tree. Also, in The Sims Unleashed you could find the Burb family living in one of the new houses the expansion shipped with. They were a farmer family growing crops and they had a dog. Johnny Burb was the family's son, who you can find in The Sims 2 family bin as an adult with his new wife and daughter when the game is first installed! Michael Bachellor from The Sims 1 is also in The Sims 2 somewhere. Can't remember how though! I think Alexandar Goth is his son?? Can't remember lol.
NO Michael Bachelor is Dina Caliente's dead husband. His head stone is on her lot someplace I think. Michael is also Bella Goth's brother. Alexander is the son of Mortimer and Bella before she was abducted, of course. Ruth
They don't expand the stories for each family because that's your job. Maybe in TS3 they will but not until then. As for the stories of the other neighborhoods: in Veronaville it's basically the Shakespeare(spelling?) town. Like Romeo and Juliette with the Capps and the Montys. In Strangetown you have the Smiths and the Grunts plus all the families that go with them. The father in the Smith family is an alien and General Grunt hates aliens. The Smith family son and one of the Grunt sons absolutely hate each other. Then there is the old lady who's woohoo'd the Grim Reaper! Boy does she have a collection of graves in her yard! Ruth
does her memory of woohooing him have any special desgination? And can you get one of your own sims to do the same, I wonder...
Strangetown sounds - interesting...I haven't really played there...I may have to take a look...The old lady sounds intriguing...and it would be interesting to meet Bella again...
I don't think the memory adds anything other then mystery and intrigue. After someone found this in her memories everyone started trying to make it happen, sims were dropping like flies. Then someone realized that with the spawn thing you could make your sim pregnant with anyone including Grimmy. Now the only thing about finding Bella is just for the fun of it. I don't believe she has any memories of Pleasantview, Mortmer, Cassandra or Alexander. I was really trying to find her but then a patch came out and fixed it to where it would be easier to find her. When I found out she had no memory other then that of a regular NPC I stopped trying. Ruth
I knew we could do that... In fact, Ophelia (sp?) now has a grimmy baby in my game... she wanted a new family member.
Yeah but by putting that in her memories like they did many people thought that Grimmy could be seduced. When you use the spawn thing does it give you a memory of woohooing with that person? Or list them as the father? Ruth
How does one have a grimmy baby, exactly? Do you need to save someone from death and then cultivate grimmy as a friend, just like any other sim?
Oh. I don't have the insiminator and don't plan to get it. I thought it was an in-game thing, since Olive Specter had a kid that way. He isn't cute at all, BTW.
I believe you can also use the Tombstone of L&D and select the "Have a baby with..." option, if your not a-sceert of the boolprop cheat.
