PLEASE HELP! download stops and message appears! Ok, so I downloaded my game on my computer and it worked fine. My computer crashed and now I'm trying to download it on my new computer. My system more than meets all the requirements. But when I start to download the Sims 2 game it gets to 18% and then stops. A message appears that says 'TSData\Res\Sound\Sfx.1package'. Then it asks if I want to retry or cancel. No matter how many times I hit retry it doesn't work. I even tried downloading it in another language and it did the same thing. What can I do??? PLEASE HELP!!!
It could be a lost bit, in the download, or you have a bad connection online. When you try again, clear your internet temp folder. Windows goes there before the website. You may have a partial corrupted file in temp.Windows is picking up that file and continuing a bad download. After clearing the folder try again.
Please clarify "download" The full game is not usually available for legal download from the internet. If this is what you mean then tough. We don't support piracy and don't help pirates. If, however you mean "installing the game from a disc" then say so. You need then to give us some more information about your computer. See the help files in the FAQ section. There's a link in my signature below.
loading problem Hi, I have a Sims 2 game that I already saved onto on my dad's computer. I brought it back to my place and downloaded it onto my computer, but when I played it all my saved stuff wasn't there. Did it wipe it clean when I installed it onto my computer? Do you think all the previous saved stuff will still be there if I play it on my dad's computer? Please help me!!!!
I originally installed it on my dad's computer and had saved data on it. I then put it on my computer thinking if I installed it, the stuff would still be there.
You might have to copy The sims 2 folder from your dads computer and copy it to my documents EAgames The sims 2. On your computer. Make sure you backup the original folder just in case. If things go wrong then copy it back.
So, do you think it'll work again when I pop it back into my dad's computer? Also, can I just save the folder on some kind of disk or cd and put it on my computer?
Legally, I believe that the game should only be installed on one computer at a time. To answer your question - yes, Odinmoon is correct, all your saved games will be there when you replace the newly installed 'The Sims 2' folder on your computer with the backup copy of the one from your dad's computer. Always make a copy of the entire 'The Sims 2' folder in the EA folder in My Documents when backing up any games as the files you need are in different sub-folders of the game.
