swmeek I got your benevolent dictator pal!!

For starters make sure any hacks or mods you may have are Bon Voyage compliant.
Also are you clicking right down beside the water's edge?
You've probably got about a 4 - 5 (maybe more) square wide area you can do this in.

    are you using any hacks?
if you are try using Simwardrobe's hack conflict detector.

If all fails could you please post a copy of your dxdiag into your next reply like this.
Click the start button and then click run , type in dxdiag and copy and paste the two paragraphs like what I've pasted from my system.

    Hi!

I had the same problem when using an old Insimenator.
After installing the one compatible with Bon Voyage, everything got back to normall.
I suggest to remove all hacks and then make a test, if it works, then most probably
one of those hacks is generating the problem.

    Good luck!

There are various kinds of hacks which are something someone has made to change the way a maxis object or action operates.
For instance one of the more popular is the phone hack which changes the way the phone acts in our sim's households. it can stop certain things from happening or add more actions to the phone that didn't come with the game.
