Prob the dumest question ever asked ! But here it goes ! (Well first a discalimer, I am the non technical dad asking on behalf of the confused daughter ) My kids are using Sims 2 ( Pets ) and several expansion packs ( Glamour Life Stuff , Festive Season , Famil Fun Stuff etc ) Which Disk has to be inserted to run what game ! ( told you it was stupid ). and when that disc is installed are all the options of all the expansion packs available. I just get confused that at one stage it used to ask for Glamour Life Stuff to play the rest of it ...... When you have stopped rolling around the floor laughing, could you help an old man out .........Ta
Well, I'll try to answer your question. Every time you install an EP, the latest EP in the chain is your "in player" game. So, if you have Pets, you play off the Pets CD. The order is: Base game, University, Nightlife, Open for Business, Pets. I don't use the add on packs because the Holiday one gave me nothing but grief. I can't remember if you play off of those disks or not. If the EP disk doesn't work, try the latest expansion pack disk, but I kind of doubt they are "playable" disks. I think they just add content. Hope this helps.
Ok, so at the moment she is only running one EP which is Pets, the others are Add On packs. I seem to remember that prior to intalling Pets, Glamour Life Stuff was the disk that was required to be inserted. If I now install Open for Business, will I still have to insert the Pets Disc to run off.
That is correct. Oh, and yes when I had glamour life installed after Open for Business I also had to use that CD. However since Pets is the newest release it should be the CD you have to use.
The only exception to the "use CD 1 from the most recent installation" is the Holiday stuff pack. That one you don't use, but use the one just prior to it. So, if you install, Pets, that's the one to have in your CD drive. ("Disc 1", not "disc 2.")
