Problem Installing Sims2...help anyone? Everytime I try opening the Sims2 file on the disc it tells me that the Sims2 needs at least 1MB of free space on the hard disk and that I have to free up some space and try again. I've got over 12GB of free space, and the box says you only need 3GB of free space to install and run the game, but it keeps telling me I need 1MB. Anyone know what I should do? P.S. My computer's an iBook G4, if that's at all important. Thanks in advance for any help anyone can give!
Just making sure, you bought the Macintosh version and you meet the minimum requirements, right? I've heard cases of TS2 being demanding on iBooks. Could you post your full system specs here please?
Yup, it's definitely the Mac version, and I'm pretty sure I meet the minimum requirements, but it's definitely possible that I'm wrong. Here's my system info: Mac OS X Version 10.4.6 Processor: 1.33 GHz Power PC G4 (iBook G4) Memory: 512 MB built-in CPU Speed: 1.33 GHz Boot ROM version: 4.9.3f0 Any ideas? Thanks a bunch for your help already.
No problem. I don't know how much of a help I'll be, but since I'm a Mac user too, I tend to gravitate to this forum when there are new posts. So, not that I would think this is an issue, but what video card do you have? According to Aspyr if it's an ATI, it should be a Radeon 9000 or better, and if it's an nVidia it should be an FX5200 or better, both with a minimum of 32 MB of Ram. Do you meet that? -John
I know this is kind of dumb, but I actually don't know what kind of video card I have, nor do I know how to find out. Would that info be found in "About This Mac," or System Profiler or something?
I am having the same problem! it is driving me crazy. it is doing the same thing on both my macbook and my new imac, which I am almost 100% positive meets the system requirements. the only one I can't check is the speed of the cdrom drive.
