Problem with disk 1 I bought this game downloaded it and played it for some time before my hard drive crashed and I took it to be replaced once I got my computer back with the new hard drive that was supposed to be bigger than my old one I put the disk in and it sounded like it was going to run and then it just stopped so I went to my computer and the icon was there when I clicked the sims 2 icon to see if it would run it that way it gave me this error: I have a DVD/CD drive it's removable and the only other thing I have is the floppy drive but it worked fine before so I don't really get why it isn't working now. My computer stuff Microsoft Windows XP Professional Version 2002 Service Pack 2 Intel Pentium lll Mobile CPU 1000MHz 727 MHz, 256MB of RAM
I'm sorry to inform you that I don't know how to answer your question but I can tell you this: you should talk to the person/people who replaced your Hard Drive if you can because they might be able to help you. Also, (correct me if I'm wrong) it appears to me that you are using a laptop. Is this True?
If the hard disc has been changed the engineer probably reinstalled your operating system and goodness knows how he decided to set it up. Go into My Computer and right click on drive D and check through all the options to make sure you don't have DLA ticked and enabled. If you do, disable it and installation out to to proceed.
It's was a memory error. A Windows file may have be corrupt, there could be a disk error or an actual RAM error.
