problems wit children hi im new here and ive been searching the forums here trying to find if anyone else has had any problems with their sim children like me. ultimately i have come up with nothing. .. maybe i just havent looked hard enough but w/e here are my problems: 1. All my female sims keep having boys!!! i hate boys!!! i want at least one little girl and yet they wont do it. one of my family now has 4 boys!!! 2. the family that has 4 boys has another problem. their second child had the option to grow up. they threw him the party but he never changed into a toddler (i do believe aging was on) then the third child had an option to grow up shortly after the second one and he did change into a toddler. how would i go about getting the second child into a toddler. if nobody has any answers for me then do u think i should email maxis and ask them???
Hi, I had the problem of only having girl babies, I think I had about 7 births and they were all female until finally one of my sims had twin boys. But if you really don't want to wait for chance, then the best option is to save the game just before or just as your sim woman goes into labour, then if she has another boy go back to the neighbourhood without saving and try again, eventually you will get that longed for girl baby (if only you could do that in real life!). We are unsure why this seems to happen, so many children of the same sex, but there is a theory that it is to even out the male to female ratio of the neighbourhood. Second problem, go to buy mode, and where the party stuff is, buy the birthday cake, get one of the adult sims and click on the cake, cant remember exactly what it says, but it's something like "bring baby to cake". So if the baby has less than one day to grow up, it will grow up with the birthday cake. Hope that helped.
thx thx it sure does help. i didnt think about going back and forth between neighborhood and game to get that chica, but ive tryed the birthday cake thing many times. all it says is clean up and ive even tryed it at 6pm with aging on and everything!!! in fact thats how i did it the first time when it said that he was gonna grow up!!! thx again for all the help, ima go see if it works right now!!!
Your cake is old. You have to use it within so many hours after purchse or else it will go bad just like the rest of the food. Try to either clean it up or delete it, and then buy a new one.

Omg ok i did that save right before she has the kid thing and i keep count as to how many times i did it. . . . .out of 12 boys she finally had a girl!!!! lucky 13!!!!!!! omg omg omg omg i gotta go play now!!!! lol
Congrats on the baby girl....13 goes to get one, that's alot of tries. Sorry that you still cant get the baby to grow up, I'm out of ideas on how to fix that, maybe it will just happen, if it doesn't, then maybe neglect the child till the social worker comes, be warned though, she will take ALL the children in that family.
anyone else??? does anybody else have any ideas on how to get this kid to grow up?? now there are six children in this family all together and he is suppose to be the second child but in the line up of family members it keeps puttin all the other kids in front of him. . . .should i just go to maxis about this???
Hi Rini, Baby to toddler transition can be a pain sometimes when things get stuck. First option is to try deleting the baby (use the moveobjects on cheat). Then save and exit and reload. You won't kill the baby doing this but you should force it to respawn (it'll be laying around near the mailbox ....) If that doesn't work you have two choices, (a) download one of the many hacked objects that allow you to force transitions or (b) use SimPE and directly edit the baby into a toddler or whatever ... If that is too problematic then plan (c) is probably your best option. Get one of your adults to move out, taking baby with them. Then play that parent, neglecting the baby completely until the social worker arrives to take it away. The go back to the rest of family and get them invite the missing parent back ... sorry its the best I offer ... :(
The only time it works to buy the cake for grow up is when they are in that window after 6pm of the day they will grow up. When you get the message saying that they will grow up in one day, that's the signal that the cake will work. If you buy it too soon it just says "clean up." Of course, if you don't buy the cake, they will still grow up at the next 6pm (so you have to do the party or cake thing before that happens.)
That's true, Kat but she says the baby is the 2nd child but the 3rd, 4th etc. have already transitioned. This baby is stuck in an x-file-ish twilight zone ...

findings here are my findings: 1) resetting the baby did nothing 2) im alittle apprehensive about downloading player made software so i want to use that as a last resort 3) i rly dont want my sims to break up cuz brent (my bf and sim husband) would get rly angry, even if it was for the sake of the baby 4) i rly want a hacked objects that can help me in my quest to help my poor baby drake
