    Re-Installing Problem! Help!

Hi, I've had Sims 2 installed into my computer before and it was deleted a while ago. When I try to re-install it it gets to about 70% then an error comes up saying its having trouble downloading the 'TSData\Res\Sound\Voice2.package'. It asks me if I want to retry the installation or cancel it and when I click retry it doesn't seem to help.

How can I fix this? It worked fine before [IMG] I've talked to some more people and it seems alot are have troubles with 'tsdata voice' installation after removing then trying to install again.

And if this helps any the actual error box reads:

    > A problem occured when trying to transfer the file TSData\Res\Sound\Voice2.package from media

(or at least pretty close to that)

    Thanks for the help

I'm not sure this would be the case, but first I have a few questions... do you have it on DVD or CD?

At any rate, check to see if there are any scratches, dust, hair, etc. on the disc. That can cause your error..... but I don't know that it would be the case.

If that doesn't work, I'm going to direct you to the EA Tech Support site at http://support.ea.com

    Sorry :(

You may have something on your computer (not in the specs but in terms of programs installed or something left behind in the registry when you uninstalled the game in the past) that is causing the problem. For example, if you have a software emulation program on your computer (so that you don't have to use the CD in the drive while you're playing something), then it's part of the anti-piracy measures to disable so that you can't use it. Even having it installed on your computer will mess up the game, even if you aren't using it for the game. (No-CD software is considered a software piracy tool by many game manufacturers.)
