    Relationship Woes

I recently bought two little dogs from the shelter for one family. I got a boy and a girl, hoping I could breed them, I've never bred the pets on TS2 before. But they hate each other. They always growl. So I got another dog. They didn't like each other either. Neither of the boys seemed to like my girl dog. Is there any way to make it better?

You can't breed dogs in the same family ;)
It's just like with normal sims, they find one they like and go in for the kill, as long as it's not your sister.

Well considering you got the dogs from the shelter they probably aren't brother and sister. I don't think any of the orginal pets are related to any others.

So there are a couple of cheats you can use to help control your pets. Once you have control of them, then make them play with each other to get up the relationship. If they do the "challenge!" social cancel it as that always gives them negative points.

You need to use both cheats to fully control your pets. The first one allows you to control their actions and the second one allows you to cancel any actions they might be trying to do.

To start open the cheat box with ctrl+shift+C. Now type in one of the cheats below exactly as you see it; except choose only one of the options in the brackets. The on/true turns the cheat on; off/false will turn the cheat off.

    boolprop controlpets [on/off]
    boolprop petactioncancel [true/false]

edit: I'm also moving this to "how do I?" section as it's more appropriate there.

Thanks, I used those cheats and (with a different family, my Faery family) Shimmer (my girl cat) is now pregnant! Yaaayyy.
So the genes will be mixed or will it look like one cat or the other?

hmm... i thought if you got them from the shelter theyre bro and sis...
kinda like adopting a child, when you adopt them, theyre family.
But i guess the rules dont apply for pets. Special benefits.

They will be mixed. When they are kittens they will be one solid color which is their base color. You don't actually get to see what they look like until they turn into full grown cats! But it should be a blend of both parents; just like Sim genetics.

And Jazz...yeah; kind of a double standard about that adoption thing! I think the main difference is that Sims are adopting children to become a mother or a father to that child. They adopt pets to be owners; not parents. ;)
