RIAA Gone too far? RIAA has successfully sued the Minneapolis woman accused of illegally downloading music - to the tune of $1.92M or $80,000 per song. http://blogs.sfweekly.com/shookdown/2009/06/riaa_wins_lawsuit_may_be_the_b.php 80K for a few songs? Dang... is that highway robbery or what? Has the RIAA officially crossed the line and gone too far?
Not a cent, lol... Ya know and the funny thing is they wasted more money then they are ever going to see. Legal defense is very expensive and its not like they are ever going to see that money. To be honest I think they are did even more harm to themselves with this. There was a lot of bad press surrounding this case. Then again, I don't think they really care.
They made more of a point making themselves look like idiots than they did making a reasonable judgement on the case! Of course like she said good luck getting their money!
Does everyone else here believe the RIAA didn't cross the line? Or are there others that think the RIAA did?
