Robot Hall of Fame If you see a robot-related post on this site, then you’re going to have to automatically assume it’s going to involve Will Wright.* Your assumption is correct, as BricaSims came across The Robot Hall of Fame which was designed to honor both achievements in robotics technology and robots from science fiction that have served as creative inspiration in robotics.* This year, Will Wright takes on the role as a judge: However, his interests are not limited to computer games. Each year Wright, along with his daughter Cassidy, takes part in the annual Battlebot competition which was broadcast nationally on Comedy Central. His past robots, which did battle with robots designed by other contestants, have taken top honors. Interestingly, it was Wright’s interest in robots that eventually led him into computer programming. It’s going to be interesting to follow his involvements.* Hopefully he’ll have some sense to help Bender from Futurama pull in the winning votes, as he’s nominated for this year…otherwise Will might have to end up biting his shiny metal ass.
