    S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Clear Sky

So when I ordered all the parts for my new computer S.T.A.L.K.E.R. was a free gift with I think my CPU. I played around with it a little last night. I actually kind of enjoyed it. I used to play a lot of survival horror on my ps2 years ago. This is sort of part survival horror, part, FPS, and part RPG.

Anyone else ever played it? If so, what did you think? Anyone know of some good games that recently came out?

I really want to take advantage of my new AMD phenom II x4 920 and ati Radeon 4870. Granted I know it's not top of the line but its a lot better then what I had before.

swmeek I got your benevolent dictator pal!!

I played the original S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and while it was a pretty cool game it was full of quirks .
Alot of times it would crash on loading levels and then there was other things wrong with it.
Even with the few patches that came out it was still buggy as hell.
I had considered getting Clear Sky but I heard it had some horrible qualities about the game too so I've not gotten it yet.
I may wait when the price has dropped and get it then .
I figure by then maybe a few patches will be out fixing any problems with the game.

Well, I enjoyed what little I got to play of it. It was the 1st game I installed on my new computer. Worked great. Well now that I've upgraded to DX10 it won't run, lol... Trying to find a work around. Otherwise, well at least I didn't have to pay for it:(

Yeah. I think the updated drivers might actually be the problem, lol... Everything worked great until I updated my catalyst drivers, and the dx10... Apparently I'm not the only one that is having this problem though, lol... I'll check out the patch too.

Edit: I'm still really new to Vista... Apparently all I had to do was run as administrator, lol.

2nd Edit: Okay, that wasn't actually the problem either. It turned out the culprit was Skype 4.0. Now that I've fixed that, I can play games to my hearts content :)
