Server Connection Error for Sims 3 Mac PLEASE HELP!

Hello, I recently downloaded the Sims 3 for mac. Whenever I try to launch it, I get an error message reading "There is a problem connecting to the server. Please ensure your internet is connection is active and try again. If the problem persists, please try again later." PLEASE HELP

 

Downloaded a legitimate copy or hacked (pirated ) copy?

 

It is a legitimate copy from Gametree Online

 

when you installed it did you allow access through your firewall ?

 

Yeah my firewall is down

 

have you checked the Sims 3 forums over at Ea to see if any other Mac users have reported this ?
I don't think we have a lot of Mac users is why I say this.

 

yeah I'm communicating with them as well I just wanted to get multiple sources involved to maybe solve the problem faster
