Shall i bother getting the sims 2 Hello, I am really worried about getting the sims 2, I want it sooooooooooo badly however i have heard really bad things about the system requirments, I have checked them out and my computer is above all of the requirements. I have 300 gig hard drive space and a really up to date video card. However I'm still very worried. Is all the fuss about the system requirments worth bothering to buy the sims2? My computer has no trouble running the origonal sims with all the expansion packs, apart from the ocassional crash, as my computer was brand spanking new in January this year. Does getting the sims 2 mean that i have to uninstall free rip (CD Ripping software) and my thing that copy's cd's that came with the computer? How dose it work out? Depending on the software for copying cds that came with your computer, it may not make you uninstall it all, just some of the programs, and I think it's because people were abusing those cd copy programs to try to copy the game. I had to uninstall one cd copy program but it let me keep the nero burning software that came with my cd burner drive, so don't uninstall stuff till it tells you to.
so far the only one i know of that will cause problems is clonecd. because i have both alcohol 120%, nero, and Easy CD Creator and sims2 hasnt given me any troubles yet.
thanks for replying, I was at work at the time so couldn't remenber my specs, well here they are: AMD Athlon(Tm) XP 2800+ 2.08 GHz 512 MB of RAM oh and i have a 300 gig HD I'm not sure about the graphics card??? I know that I am currently editing my feature length Zombie film on this computer so i reckon the graphics card probably will work fine.... what do you reckon? Thanks Dude and dudets
on my specs it say [font=Verdana, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif]nVidia nForce2[/font] dont know if this helps?
duh???? I am a fool or what? On the front of my computer it has a sticker that says ATI Radeon 9200 on the sims 2 system requirments it says that thats fine and all my specs are the same or mostly above.......... only took me 2 hours to aventually look on the front of my pc.................. and to think i made a whole feature film this year..... sorry to waste anyones time..... This site is cool though.!!! I'm getting the game this thursday when i get paid so I write then if there is any problems. cheers people!!!
