Sim exchange / The Sims Body Shop

Iv'e been to the Sim exchange many times, and iv'e seen gorgeous outfits. But you can never find somthing you are thinking of, and when you do find somthing perfect somtimes it crashes your game. To get to the potint i'd like to know how to make clothes and hair etc... So if you know a website with a guide or somthing like that please tell me do u use The Sims Body Shop? and how do u use that anyway?:(

I haven't quite grasped the tequnique on altering clothes and hair yet, but for simple recolours it's easy. Pick the outfit that you want to alter, click on 'export selected texture', then give it a name.
Open whatever paint program that it is you have (I'm using Arcsoft Photostudio). Go to 'open' file, and find My documents/EA Games/The Sims 2/Projects. Find the name that you created for your outfit. Open the one that says texture file, not the alpha (alpha is where you do the altering). Ok, now you should have a picture of your selected outfit open. I use my effects browser, in my program it looks loke a rabbit in a magicians hat. For recolouring I mainly stick to changing hue and saturation, there is a slider that changes the colours for you without losing any of the detail of the original outfit. To add logos, there is a large T (meaning text) in the enhancement bar, type what you want and alter it to you get the desired result. Or I use the stamp tool to add pictures to the clothing.
Once you have completed your outfit, save it, then return to body shop and click 'import to game' and voila, your custom creation is complete.
Ok, hope you understand all that (and appreciate how long it took to type! lol)
    Good luck.

Do it through body shop, after you have clicked "build sim" there is two options, click "package sim". You can either upload strait to the Sims 2 Exchange or save it to upload later. I find it easier to do it while your on the net so it uploads right there and then. That's the way that I do it, not sure how else to do it.
