    SimGames.net - We're Moving!

Greetings: The web server we are on is close to 7 years in age. During its lifetime, we've had a few tweaks and upgrades, but finally no amount of updates could keep up with the growth we've experienced. In an effort to maintain our goal towards excellence, we've deployed a brand new web server to replace our aging system. Kevin has been working hard in the background the last few weeks putting together the last few pieces of a brand new server, and after extensive testing, we're ready to move everyone. The performance has been absolutely brilliant. The question you might be asking: How does this affect me? It affects you on several levels. But most importantly, we need to coordinate the move with each of you. First of all, please open a support ticket at http://helpdesk.simgames.net and specify what assets need to be moved to the new server. This includes web, SQL, etc. The entire migration process is being done manually. Second, users with domains will need to have their DNS servers updated for the transition process to be seemless. Third, we've observed several unusual quirks with web applications such as WordPress. We will need to work with everyone to make sure your sites handle the transition well. Note: We're using this time to remove inactive members and reallocating resources to members. ACCOUNTS that DO NOT CONTACT US BY SEPTEMBER 1, 2010 WILL BE DEEMED INACTIVE AND WILL NOT BE MOVED. Regrettably, certain things will be need to be recreated manually, such as email. We regret any inconvenience this may cause. Our goal is to make the transition as smooth as possible. Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us through the helpdesk at http://helpdesk.simgames.net All the best,ManagerJosh
