Sims 2 crashes everytime My Sims 2 (no expansions) always crash when I try to play it. After the EA Logo a message will pop up The Application Has Crashed. The Application will now terminate. And that's it.. I can't run it. Could someone please help me? This is my spec: Processor : Intel(R) Celeron(R) 2.4 Ghz Video Card : ATI RADEON 7000 SERIES - 64MB Memory Card : Unknown Brand - 1024MB Total Space : C:\ - 39.0 GB ; E:\ - 35.4 GB Free Space : C:\ - 2.74 GB ; E:\ - 1.56 GB DirectX Version : DirectX 9.0c Sound Card : Vinyl AC'97 Audio (WAVE) Page file : 343MB used, 2247MB Available (C:\) Operating System : Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2 Sims 2 Folder : C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Sims 2
Sure, here you go and thx for the welcome, i can't find the reason for the crashes.. my spec seems to be capable of running sims 2..
That error is one of EA's many useless errors as they don't actually tell you what went wrong. Only thing I can recommend is making some more free space on C drive to see if that helps.
How much space did you clear and did you defrag it afterwards? Considering you have a Celeron cpu which is about useless for gaming anyways and only a GB of ram I'd be kinda surprised if it would run at all.
I'd freed up 5GB of space in C:\. And yes, Celeron is crappy on gaming, but I am able to run other games, such as C&C Generals Zero Hour, The Sims 1, GTA Vice City, Red Alert 2, Halo Combat Evolved, and so on.
