    Sims 2 Freezing on Neighborhood!

I have Sims 2 Deluxe and Apartment Life installed and it loads completely fine and fast until I go to a neighborhood where my game freezes and displays strange colors so badly that I can't even see the lots or anything. I am running a new harddrive with 140GB space and my computer specs are:

Operating System: Windows XP Home Edition (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 3 (2600.xpsp_sp3_gdr.080814-1236)

    I have Creative Soundblaster PCI.

Here is my thing though, with these same settings my game was working completely fine for almost a year so why now would it be messing up? I was running my game on my old computer with a NO-CD hack and I put the game back in it's case incase I would need it again. PLEASE HELP!
