Sims 2 not working with downloads

    Hi there!

I got a serious problem...
Can anyone tell me if is there a limit number for downloaded objects for the game???
I mean, the game is not opening anymore, it freezes when it's loading...
I got the colour enabler package, everythings ok I guess.
When I had just a few downloads the game was still working but now i got about 1800 downloads, including collection files but it freezes!!! I get this message "The aplication blocked. The aplication is ending" (something like this, it's in portuguese...)

Is that too many downloads or may some files be corrupted?
Is there any program that searches for errors on .package files? I searched for it but got nothing for sims 2.

    Can you help me please?

    I got a pentium 4 3.0Ghz
    1GB DDR400
    Ati Radeon 9200 128MB
more than 60gb free disk space

Try moving your Downloads folder (I'm sure you know where it is--My Documents/EA GAMES/The Sims 2/Downloads) to the desktop (left-click and hold, and drag.) Then start your game to see if it works minus all the downloads. If it does then you have to test your downloads a few at a time to see which one is causing the problem.

That's the solution if it is a download that is your problem. Hope this helps.

p.s. I have a little more than 4000 downloads. Which slows down the loading time. So far that's my only problem with how many I have.

    Problem Solved!!!

I was already doing the reverse thing, deleting things until I get the wrong one.

And I got it, it was my 1978 Cadillac Eldorado and my 1970 Dodge Challenger RT!

Less two in my garage!

I guess I took them from Vita Sims 2...

    Thanks for your help!
