Expansion Packs When you run this patch, will it affect my University EP install? I don't want to have to reinstall it. Please advise (if you know).
I can't install the patch. I have NO hacks. I own the Sims 2 & Sims University. I have only played the Sims 2 one time before installing University (which I have played one time, yesterday, and have one saved game). I saw a patch in the help file today while browsing this site. I downloaded and tried to install it. When I run the exe, it says: "The Sims 2 is not installed or improperly installed on your machine. Please install or reinstall the Sims 2." Please tell me that I do not have to do this! If so, do I uninstall the University first, then the Sims 2? What is causing this error to come up when I run the exe? My sims 2 and University work fine, they are not improperly installed. They installed perfectly and play perfectly. Thank you for your help, in advance.
I can't find the answer on the Sims2.com either. Does anyone know? Should I just play the game as normal? What type of errors will I look for (to know if my patch worked or not)? What are some key indicators that the patch works fine or was included in University?
I would say the key indicators are seeing any of the things happen that are in the list at the head of this thread. I think though that Josh is correct. I think the Univerist disc will have been shipped with patch ... there was a section of the installation that reported a specific phase of "updating" ....
