Sims 3 freezes during the middle of game Hello everyone I'm quite new to this. But when I play my sims3 it freezes. The time stops and my sims will not move and everything is still. the funny thing is that shadows still move and the sims diamond still rotates around the actives sims head. So Im not too sure if its a graphical problem. You can also move the mouse around but it is not possible to click or use any of the buttons. I've tried a lot things like playing in a windowed mode, used windows vista basic insteadd of windows aero. I have no idea what to do. Can someone help me please as this is becoming frustrating. Thank you.
Clcik start and in the search box type in dxdiag Click ok and let it run and when it's done click the "save all info" button at the bottom and save it to your desktop as a txt file. Right mouse click it and attach it to your next post or copy and paste the contents of it to your reply.
I have the same problem.. I bought a new computer a week ago and played daily for hours just fine. Last night all of a sudden it started freezing every 2 sim minutes in normal speed ever 4 or 5 in ultra-fast. The sims and thought bubbles freeze but the plumbobs still go and the surroundings still go (IE the bushes move, the Zzzs still move). If I Quit and restart is played about 15 minutes or so before it starts freezing. I can quit to main menu and start another save-file and play about 15 minutes and it'll happen again though if I just switch active households it starts immediately. I reinstalled the whole game and played about 20 - 30 minutes (2 sim days)before it happened again. I'm not sure how much of the diagnostic you need so let me know if you need more. I am just reinstalling again and will try it without any mods, patterns or downloaded sims to see if that fixes it. I would rather not re-install Windows but if I have to I'd rather do it now before I ammass too much stuff on the new computer. Not sure if this is what you meant (I'm not good with computers stuff). It worked fine (so far) in a completely vanilla patched game. I'm going to try to DL Riverview & My premade sims I uploaded weeks ago and try again. Well after a whole lot of testing and researching it turn out for me at least that it was the known bug of Awesome Mod to stutter from 12:58 to 1:30 sim time. So I'll continue looking through their forums to try to find a solution.
I was going to say your specs are great and that it was more than likely a corrupted file somewhere. At least you have a starting point to work off of !
