Sims Eraser There seems to be a lot of confusion about what Sim Eraser is, and what it will do. What it is, is a program. It erases Sims entries in the Windows registry. The Windows registry is a large file system -- like a big book -- that tells your computer what's installed, where, and other info about it. When you uninstall the Sims, those entries have to be erased, or else the computer will think the game is still there. DON'T USE Sim Eraser UNLESS YOU ARE UNINSTALLING. If you aren't uninstalling, and you use it, it will make the computer think your game is gone, and you won't be able to play. If you're uninstalling, you can find Sim Eraser on Disk 1 of Superstar, Unleashed, or Deluxe, in a folder called Eraser. If you have trouble finding it, you can download it from http://thesims.ea.com/us/support/simseraser.html.
I had to use SimEraser when I needed to uninstall the game and reinstall all of the CD's again. Some of those registry files are tricky little buggers. Sincerely, Amy
