Some Simmers are just Snippy, Rude and Demeaning.

I totally understand the need for permission in this day and age in the Sims Community. But it's always left a bitter distaste in my mouth to deal with the headaches and politics of the game. It drive me nuts always. Not to mention how rude people can get. Or how people just get in your face and dictate all the terms.

Some people are just trying to help the community.

For example, a simmer recently started up a Magic fan-based mini pack. It's basically a small collection of custom content made by fans. I'm guessing the motive was not to steal or take credit for the items, but offer a convenient, guaranteed place to get the pack without having to run around the net for it.

It was probably an honest mistake, but the guy got chewed out for it.

    Example

One creator (we'll say creatorA) wrote this.

No offense, but the guy was trying to help the community out. It's just somewhat sad to see people at least give a bit of leeway one time instead of being all snippy and dictating exactly how people should do anything.

Credit in the readme/post is good enough IMO. You would think that the creator would be happy that more people are enjoying what they created and that their piece was selected to go into this pack.
