Spore through Steam will not start

Hey everyone, I really need some help! :(

I purchased Spore through Steam, and installed it on my computer. It ran fine for abour two hours, then crashed. Now it will not even start. When I try to start the game, I get a black screen for maybe five seconds and then a Windows message saying:
"Spore has stopped working A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."
Then the only option I have is to "Close Program."
I read though some of the other posts and tried moving some of the files, and then finally I just uninstalled it, deleted all the game files, and reinstalled it. It still will not start.
I have checked to make sure all my drivers have the latest updates, and I know my system meets the requirements, but I'll post it below just in case.
Does anyone have any ideas?? I have sent an e-mail to Spore's customer support, but have not heard anything back yet. Please Help!

    Here is my system:

swmeek I got your benevolent dictator pal!!

Are you running the Aero program while you game (or try to game )?
Can I assume your power supply is powerful enough to feed your card?
also do you have any problems playing any other games?
Is this the 180.48 driver you're using?
You might try stepping back to an older driver and see if it helps.
Also what about doing a clean install of your video driver too?
If you're fairly computer savvy then I would suggest you use the DriverSweeper program from www.guru3d.com to clean out any old drivers first before you install any new ones.

    I found the answer!!
For some odd reason when I installed the game through Steam, it installed into two different places. My programs folder, and then again under my user folder. I was deleting the game from the main programs folder, but not from my user folder, so I was not really deleting the game. The funny thing is that it looked like I was because I was deleting all the game files. There were actually two complete sets of game files to delete in addition to my saved games. If anyone else has this problem, delete the game from these two places, choose the option to "delete local content" on steam, and then reinstall it. It should work.
    Here are the two places:

    Start>Your User Name>App Data>Spore
**Check the EA games folder too just to make sure there are no game files hidden there

    Start>Computer>Local Disk>Program Files>EA Games>Spore

Also check your documents folder to delete and delete any Spore files from there.

So did you just find the place it was hiding at or did you get it to work?
I would think uninstalling it from your add/remove programs would completely uninstall it.
