Stairs Are Windows I am at a total loss. All of my stairs have turned into windows. Does anyone in cyber space know what I should do to get my stairs back???
I do I dunno if it will get them back, but it will stop this from happening again! Get Sim Catorgizer from www.simwardrobe.com and make all your downloaded windows into decorative objects (change the catorgory they are in) Do this to all your downloaded Build Mode objects, to keep you from the Build Mode Bug
while I wouldn't do it to all my build mode objects....you can move many windows and doors into buy mode by using the categorizer linked above
Windows especially, and to some extent doors and outdoor objects cause this to happen - if re-catorgorize all your downloaded doors, windows and yard objects, and downloaded stairs and fireplaces for safety, to decorative or miscellaneous buy mode - then the game fireplaces and other stuff that was showing up as 'windows' will go back to being stairs and fireplaces Really, one of these expansion pack Maxis should fix this - been a problems since TOS - I have given up expecting it
No, not at all but if you get too many windows, doors or plants in BUILD mode they mess up the fireplaces and stairs - so when you try and place a stair or a fireplace it instead pulls a window, door or bush The way to avoid this is, when you make doors, windows or plants (from build mode plants) to edit the iff so that it appears in BUY Mode (decorations or miscellaneous for example) instead. If you have downloaded many windows, doors and/or BUILD mode plants and that affects your game you can use Sim Object manager or T-Mog to edit the iff and place it in BUY mode and fix the issue where stairs and fireplaces appear as doors, windows and/or bushes :bunny:
Wow this is an interesting bug to work around!! I wonder how many build mode trees, windows, etc. you CAN have before it triggers the fireplace and stairs bug?!!! They started listing how many user created floors and wallpapers you can load into the game... maybe they will start telling us approximately how many buld objects etc. will work too, that might be nice of them... then again it might be hard to figure out....
I face this bug for a long time... Theres a limit on plants, staircases and windows...change them into buymode categories...
