    Sticky Sims Mini-Freezes

During gameplay (when I go into a house with a Sim in it and actually play that Sim, not while creating Sims or lots) my game does some mini-freezes. It gets worse when I go to a community lot, forcing me to actually shut down the game because it just doesn't respond for a whole ten minutes.
While I'm in the Sims' house it can take five minutes to do a simple task like going bathroom because the game does a mini-freeze while I select to use the object, while the Sim walks over and then while they're doing the action. It's very annoying and makes for a largely unsatisfying experience.

I have downloaded various clothing and some constructing materials like floor and wall coverings and have also deleted a large amount of that because I believed that to be the culprit. Obviously it wasn't since now, after 60% of my downloaded stuff has been deleted from the game and my computer, it still mini-freezes all the time.
I have University, Nightlife, Pets and Seasons, along with all the stuff packs except for Celebrations and Family Fun. I have also upgraded my computer with a new game/video card in the last six months which has improved all of my other games, but only Sims minutely.

I'd like to know what I can do to improve this issue. Whether it is deleting all downloaded files, buying a new game/video card or even uninstalling the entire Sims package. Thank you.

For us to do that you need to post your computer's specifications. You can find instructions on how to find them in the FAQs.
