Stuff not too far out in the future...

This is again, one of those computer questions which require you to be in the know, but I was just wondering if anyone knows whether or not Sims 2 will rely on PPU's (Physics Processing Units, kinda like Video Cards, but the load of calculating realistic physics can exceed the power needed to render highly detailed graphics with the dynamic shadowing and large draw distances). Combine the fact that we're getting real close to Dualcore processors intended for gaming (including some Socket 939 mobo compatible), doesn't this mean that the next 6 months would be a bad time to build a new system or do any expensive upgrades? I guess the extra processing power might help in The Sims 2...but I don't think physics are a big role in TS2. Reason I'm asking is I'm thinking out my plan of attack regarding when and where to upgrade.

I don't think there are physics in TS2. All of the animations are canned, there's no physics involved. Otherwise you'd be able to dropkick a baby.

I suspect that there won't be any major innovations used in The Sims until there is a TS3 or higher. So, you don't need to make sure to have the physics requiring upgrades for a while, unless it's for other things than TS2.
