The Pleasantview Journal FIRST BURIAL AT NEW COMMUNITY CHURCH/CEMETARY The recently built Pleasantview Community Church welcomed yesterday the first permanent residents of its adjoining cemetary, Dina and Nina Caliente. Dina Caliente, who died several sim-years ago, was cremated and her ashes kept at the home she shared with her sister Nina, until Nina's death yesterday. Dina was a prominent businesswoman and the widow of the late Mortimer Goth. Nina Caliente was a retired professional party guest. She was never married, but is survived by her live-in partner, Brandon Lillard. Neither of the Caliente sisters leave behind any children or other family. Okay, so there's my first installment. I'm not nearly as creative as most of you and my sims lead dull lives in comparison, but I thought maybe writing a newspaper-style thread might make it a little bit interesting.
I bet your sims aren't dull. I know mine are - but I'm going to do a thread anyway. Sounds great so far!
The church looks cute. I haven't played the Caliente sisters much. I do here and there when it serves my purposes.
CAUGHT MOM CHEATING, WHAT NOW? Dear Blabby: Recently I saw something which brought back a repressed childhood memory. I had caught my mother cheating on my father with a much wealthier man. Now, as a teenager, I have caught her cheating again, this time with that same man's son! My father is a family man through and through. He grew up very poor, and family was all he had. He remained loyal to his mother, my grandmother, after his brothers left her for better things. He took care of her until the day she died. And nothing is more important to him now than my mother, my little brother, and me. My mother, on the other hand, only thinks about money. Making it, spending it, and men who have more of it than my father does. I'm so furious with my mother for treating my father this way! I don't know what to do! Should I tell him what's going on, or just pretend I never saw anything? Betsy Dear Betsy: What you have to ask yourself is, do you hate your mother more than you love your father? It sounds like your father loves all of you very much, and is happy having a family that is whole. Finding out about your mother's indiscretions would break his heart. So is it more important to you to get revenge on your mother, or to keep your father happy? And for that matter, if your mother is so much happier with these richer men, how much would it really hurt her to be free to be with one of them? You need to think about who you'd really be hurting by letting the cat out of the bag. And what do you think, dear readers?
*Claps* Thats awesome!! Bravo!! Your good at the newspaper theme, and are those stories actully true from your game(i know for a fact the first one proberly is). well your great keep it up
R.I.P. DUSTIN (BROKE) PLEASANT Dustin Pleasant (formerly Broke) passed away in his home last night at age 83. He was the son of the late Brandi Broke, husband of the late Angela Pleasant. He is survived by his son Daniel, two younger brothers Beau and Derek Broke, Derek's wife Andrea, and their two children, Betsy and Timothy. Dustin's body currently rests beside his wife at their home in Pleasantview. DECK THOSE HALLS... WE'RE WATCHING! Over the past two nights, Pleasantview Journal photographers have been sneaking around the neighborhood, photographing all of the houses that have been decorated for the holidays. Now, we're asking our internet readers to vote on the best decorated house in the neighborhood! The winning family will be kaching'd a $1,000 prize, and featured in our post-Christmas edition. Good luck to all!
Dustin Pleasant was a handsome guy. Photogenic. Sorry to hear of his passing. The contest is fun. I've voted. p.s. 83 is astounding. I've never had anyone live that long.
Nope, Duzzy, not yet. The past week or so it has been my college students' turn to play (and nothing really happens with them), and I haven't even had a whole lot of time to play. I have one more student to take care of today before I switch back to the main neighborhood, and I hope to announce the winner of the Christmas decorating contest before New Year's.
RETIRED PLEASANTVIEW PHYSICIAN WINS HOUSE DECORATING CONTEST Our readers voted, and the results are in! Dr. Melissa Fancey has won the Journal's Christmas decorating contest with her exquisitely decorated modern townhouse. We visited her on Christmas Eve to deliver her $1,000 prize. When asked what she would do with the money, Dr. Fancey said, "Well, I have always loved to WooHoo - so much so that when I qualified to become a specialist I just knew I had to be a WooHoo therapist. So now that I am retired, I want to spend my last days WooHooing as much as possible. I intend to use the money to wine and dine some lucky man... or several..." The Journal wishes Dr. Fancey luck in her, uh, endeavor. (Photo #1 Caption: Dr. Fancey poses for a quick snapshot after receiving her prize.) (Photo #2 Caption: The winning house.)
