The Sims 2 Nightlife Update - #3 - By Tim LeTourneau Greetings Everyone, Well as you all now know, there was a lot of news last week on the The Sims 2 Nightlife. E3 was a huge success, and The Sims 2 was everywhere. On Nintendo Gamecube, Gameboy Advance and DS, Sony PS2 and PSP, Microsoft Xbox, and of course, the one that is near and dear to all of us, the PC. Electronic Arts had a huge 360 degree theatre where a video of The Sims 2 played – it was truly amazing to see. Will Wright was also there showing off his next project, Spore. It was a great show for Maxis. In case you’ve been disconnected from the internet for the last week, I’ll give you run down of what people got to see in The Sims 2 Nightlife demo: Downtown: Cool locations like “The Hub,” I built the demo lot myself. Dancing, dining, DJ Booth, bar, etc… Dating and Attraction: “Scope Out” the room to find the Sims your Sim thinks are the most attractive, find out what their Turn Ons and Turn Offs are, then ask them for a date. Cars: Yeah, finally!!! After 5 years, they finally can own them. Park them in the driveway, build a garage, and choose their color. No more missing the carpool. Oh, and Mrs. Crumplebottom moved into the neighborhood too. I know there is a lot of stuff on the E3 demo already posted on a variety of sites, and you may have even seen me talking my way through the demo as well. But that’s only a small part of what’s in The Sims 2 Nightlife, so I thought I would share a few other things that I’m really excited about, and I think you will be too. oh cool, we can finally see our neighbours that was promised to us from before sims 2 was released. Nice to see that they are working some of the things that we thought we'd be getting from the start. Never know, we may get the weather that alot of ppl have been wanting, in a future expansion. I'm really looking forward to getting this one.
Now to me being able to see the neighborhood and not have the surrounding yards disapear into the mist is bigger news than the car!!! I hate it that you can't see the house next door or the pretty trees the neighbor has on his property line!!
Josh, did you get to see how the cars worked? Can they be driven around the neighborhood, or is it just instead of using a taxi or carpool? Are the clubs useful as restaurants or are they limited to being a meeting place. (I'm hoping for it to act like Hot Date.) I was impressed with the one labeled "Neighborhood view." Does that mean that we'll be able to see the neighborhood houses from the house (which is what it looks like since they had the family disc present)? I loved the new wall paper that was seen in one of the screenshots (the one called "Furniture galore," I believe.) And several of the shots had rugs under the furniture. (Of course, Windkeeper and Echo have done a lot with rugs already. I'm wondering if they will be compatible.) I'm still deeply into University, so while I'm excited about Nightlife coming out, I'm glad it's not coming out until fall. I still need some time to finish getting my Simskids through college!
I can't wait. I have loved all the new expanses from the sims 1 and now with the sims 2 ones coming out bigger and better it can only get better from here on out. Ruggie P.S my hubby isn't going to be happy for a couple of months lol
I'm still hoping that if we can see the neighbor's house we can walk over to visit as well ... oh well ... ever the optimist.
At this point, I'll settle for just being able to see a little more! By the way, Mirelly, you've got me stuck on a Carpenter's tune. Shame on you and your birdies!
