The Sims 2 "stoping" and all expansions!! Look, first of all sorry my english is bad so, I have The Sims 2 and all expansions (bon voyage and teen style include), and i have two nvidia geforce 8800 GTS 320 MB graphic cards so i use SLI and I Use Vista Ultimate, Intel core 2 duo 1.86 Ghz, Motherboard P5N32-E SLI Plus, 2GB RAM!!! Look when i playing The Sims 2 for example i have 1 man in house and the game don't stoping (I mean how too say it, the sims 2 can preform on my graphic, but it don't work pretty well), but when i go too vacation and there are many people then the game is stoping, i can't play, not only on vacation when i go to community lot where are many people then the sims 2 can't preform!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so can somebody help, this is big problem???and "stoping" means, look, when you have a graphic card 128 MB the sims 2 can't preform, but when you have graphic card 256 then the sims 2 preform better, so that means my the sims 2 can't preform on these 2 two graphic cards!!!!!!!!!!!so help please????
The first thing that comes to my mind is that maybe having 2 graphics cards is too much and the game is not meant to be played on a pc with 2 graphics cards. My ex husband had 2 cards and couldn't play certain games because of it. I'm certainly no computer whiz but it wouldn't hurt to try taking one of your 2 cards out. One of those should be more than enough to run the game.
I think you have described it very well. The Sims 2 and Vista makes a volatile recipe. Add to that mix the new-fangled technology of cross-linking graphics cards and all sorts of problems are certain to be reported. Worse, it is a sure bet there will be no documented cures to found on Google. The best you can do is to experiment (very carefully) with different set-ups until you (hopefully) find a set-up that works for you. If you are desperate to play The Sims 2 then you might try demounting one of those nVIDIA 8800s and seeing how the system reacts to the game .... :(
