Thnx MngrJosh/ Save fixed/ New concerns

Thanks for response ManagerJosh. Your response forced me to ThinK...
Seemed odd no one but Trevor_2541 & I had similar problems after endless chat rooms searches. Since I could save all butS2, had to have disconnect between S2 parameters & save function. Remembered seeing post that S2 only ran on Administrator Account. Turned out - i had two administrators under user accounts. This meant S2 placed a save file under both "My Documents" accounts = Saving function confused into Endless do-loop between two save places = freeze. Changed to one administrator, uninstalled and reinstalled. (manually removing both account My Doc... AE files)
    Save functions perfectly now.
NeW ProbleM = Minifreezes during game play. Still playing game as outlined in my first post, however, Upgraded RAM to 1 G. Afraid to upgrade video card and Driver as per Dell site. [They gave me info which indicated I had a driver which could't have --as driver was released after my computer was shipped.] So how do I fix minifreezes?
After reading threads on these issues, I am more confused than ever. Only thing not done is Video card & Driver (believe have V. 44.03, A03 as date onDxDiag states 5/2/2003) updates. Plz hlp me fix constant minfreeze making playing impossible and hlp me not mess up computer.

    OOps

    NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 440 with AgP87

I believe my drive, as listed after a DXDIAG is nv4_disp.dll version6.14.0010.4403 date is 5/2/2003..

had a conversation with Dell today and was told (after they entered my service tag ID) I could update it as VVIDIA 64MB DDR NVIDIA GeForce4 MX version45,02.A05

However I got nervous as this spec didn't seem to be accurate --that version would not have been available for my computer (I looked at dates)...so I THink I have version v.44.03,A03.

Anyway, don't really know what I'm doing ...besides having major SIM withdrawl (uninstalled SIMs and SimCity to give new game full benefit of system). Can you fix the pain? THNX

    upgrade

Just when I thought it was safe to get back in the game....having save issues again, but less minifreezes. What's with this? My video card doesn't have enough RAM? Cache issues? oh yeah, had to ask someone what that meant...if I do little saves as you suggested, it does better. Only I don't want to save every3 to 5 minutes. Seriously, that's what it took not to seize the system up.
No more patting myself on the back. Humbled female asks for brilliant advice. Upgrade what with what and can it be done by DIY? Seems to be some issues from what I was reading here and elsewhere with making sure chip(?) motherboard, video card and drivers are all working together. Some place I can get smart on that? Okay, how about less dumb.
Need some serious sleep. Have to worry over this bone tomorrow. Hey, on the bright side, I have more memory to run old sims stuff if I can't do this right. Nite and thnx.
