Trouble creating new sims I've had my neighborhood going for a while, and recently I found that when I create new characters, they're portraits at the bottom of the screen, as well as pics of them in the squares in the top left, have a very dark, black shading obscuring the faces. This doesn't happen when new sims are born, just when I create them. Whats the deal? I'm on a mac, by the way, if that's relevant. Thanks guys!
Try deleting the cache files at the bottom of the list of folders in My_Documents\EA_Games\The_Sims_2\ They are Accessories.cache, Cigen, ContentRegistry, Groups.cache You might feel nervous doing this but go ahead and delete those pesky items. This will force the game to rebuild them next time you start up the game (Cigen is built by Body Shop and will not reappear until you restart Body Shop). Freshly built files should fix you problem.
