Tsunami Warning Issued After 7.5-Magnitude Quake Rocks Indonesia http://earthquake.usgs.gov/eqcenter/recenteqsww/Quakes/us2009cybb.html http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,491044,00.html
Ahg No! Shame these poor people! They just never have it easy do they? One Disaster after another! Come ON mother Nature give them a bladdy break won't ya!? I Pray That it's not as bad as the Tsunami in thailand! senseless so many innocent lives and livelihoods were lost! Shame just a crying shame
sorry I just get worked up when i hear people having hard times! Anyways thanks Josh for posting this! hadn't yet heard of this and now wish I Hadn't! =[ EDIT;Reason I say this is 'cuz after the 2004 Devastation on the island of sumatra nearly over 230 000 lives were lost and they are JUST begining to rebuild and get back onto their feet again! now all they need is for this happen! But after reading the Links josh provided (thanks) I see the Warning Issued was "lifted" that's good News! just hope it stays that way.. Unlike Other people I do make it my business to care about these unfortunate situations! just seems Sad that there are not enough of us out there to make any 'Real' Difference! maybe I can make a "small but significant" difference when i become a journalist someday.. here are some quotes to back up what I mean. " If we just stand by idly not contributing to Aid when a disaster strikes,then Our Example shall be seen by our children Causing a World Wide Ripple Effect!" Anonymous Author "someone has to stand up for the little people" Orig Source Unknown!
Damn that sucks! But looking at where they're located (pacific Ring of Fire) I'm not surprised. They'd better hope they don't ever have another Krakatoa happen in that region.
whips out guitar and starts singing his rendition of Burning Ring Of Fire by Johnny Cash! And I threw Josh's butt into a burning ring of fire! LMAO :ducks: Yeah but I think your side of the BROF has a little better detection than way out there.
We have seismograph detector's all over the place, but their designed to record the earthquake, not predict them -__-;
:rotfl: Yup same in South Africa not that we should expect any though? .. but you never know ...:slaphappy:
Luckily living out here in the boonies we don't get much in the way of earthquakes but every now and then we do get them. There a fault line between Indiana and Illinois that likes to shake things up every so often.
Yeah...can't say we get a whole lot of either earthquakes or tsunami's in Minnesota either... Floods, blizzards and tornadoes though.
