Tutorial Requests! I thought it might be a good idea to start a thread in this area for Tutorial Requests! If you're into making stuff for your sims and especially if you're into SHARING it here at WorldSims (*hint hint!* ) then post here and let us know what you want to learn how to do! Some stuff I'm DYING to learn is: 1. How to make objects with EXTRA TILES added! For instance, original maxis coffee tables are 2 tile objects, and I'd like to learn how to clone a coffee table and make it a THREE tile object, so it's the same length as the couch and has more of a balanced look when they're together! 2. How to make objects with EXTRA SPRITES! Example, the maxis Fountains have about THREE different graphics for the different positions of the water that are used to make the fountains animated... I'd like to be able to ADD more positions for the water so I can have a more exciting fountain! I suspect that this might be done by making the extra sprite images and naming them the right way, or by putting them in folders numbered in the right way, but I also suspect this might require stuff like changing programming codes to refer to how to use the sprite graphics. I hope this makes sense to someone! 3. How to make objects with CHANGED SIMS INTERACTIONS! The traditional "hacked" object, like a daybed your sim can sit on and nap on like a couch, but ALSO crawl into bed and sleep in like a bed, and have the Comfort and Energy levels raised at max!
I know the software to change an animation is called animation alchemist. You can make new animations with simpose. I never used it much so I don't know how to do advanced interaction changes. Maybe you could change the nap action to the bed action, but if they had to pull out the daybed that would involve the object moving too, I don't know what you'd have to do to get that to happen.
