Typically English House Plans Bah, humbug. Unfortunately, I can't seem to find any good, nice looking, English housplans on the internet. Any time I search for them, I get "English Tudor..." or "English Luxury..." etc. I'm just looking for some typical English home floor plans. Does anyone know of any place on the web to look at typical, cute, English houseplans? My sims are craving cultural changes. -John
Hi John, I'm not sure about the traditional English floor plans but the new Housing Developers have floorplans on their websites. The new generation of housing here in the UK is a bit weird (rules about maximising land use by building up and having more % of terraced/mews), but you might find something you like. Floorplans vary from one development to another, and prices vary with each location. These are examples of new houses: http://www.redrow.co.uk/img/assets/houses/ribble_det_floorplan.pdf http://www.dwh.co.uk/sites/H1376 (click on specific house pics and select floorplan from the tab above) http://www.barratthomes.co.uk/more_site.cfm?intDevID=268&morepage=2 http://www.bryant.co.uk/WestMidlands/NortonPark/NortonViewAvailability (click on specific house names for floorplans) Hope this helps.
I don't have any specific sites in mind, John. But two suggestions spring to mind. One is that all my houses are somewhat typical of what I would imagine you consider typical of english home floor plans. One possible source of home plans would be to scour home-finder sites. British real estate agents are called "estate agents". Try Google for estate agent county where you replace county with the name of an actual county. I just Googled Surrey and found http://www.foxtons.co.uk/ List of English Counties Good hunting ... Remember that we live in rabbit hutches. Floor space is at a premium and open-plan is new-fangled
You know, oddly enough, there's something about that that appeals to me! Thanks for the links, I will check them out
As much as I hate doing this--because I HATE when people don't use the search function--I must ask are your lots avaiable for download, or are your posts with your lots scattered in locations across Worldsims? I'm sorry about that. Thanks! -John
Er ... I think I gave up uploading to the exchange cos stuff gets culled too quickly and uploading takes too darn long. All my exchange lots are now gone. :( I haven't uploaded anything to the World Sims db cos I don't have upload privileges However see the house brag thread because all the houses I brag about are supplied with floor plan images. Ignore all that It seems that I have got upload privileges ... http://forums.worldsims.org/showthread.php?t=12392 http://forums.worldsims.org/showthread.php?t=12410 What can I say ... the nurse is late with my medication? Yeah, that'll do as an excuse. (I slept in late and had an exhausting dream of being stuck at a fair, being baulked at every turn by dubious carnies, and I had lost my handbag, and broke my glasses, and couldn't find my car (which was the first car I ever owned ... so I assume I was quite young in the dream, even though I didn't wear glasses until I was over 40), and the handbag was borrowed so I was desperate to find it, but the carnie wouldn't let us(!?!) get off the ride so we threw all his billiard balls in the lake and I started worrying that they were bouncing off the heads of the swimmers (and now I am wondering where the billiard balls came from ... ... dreams are so weird ... and so, I guess, am I ...).
ROFLMAO! If you ever have the opportunity to write me into one of your dreams, I'd be quite happy--it'd be an experience to remember. Thanks for the links Mirelly
