Upgrading Matrox Drivers? Hello I have same problem with you. I try to make the suggestion. But I can not find what kind of graphics chipset I have. Can you say me? and if you know the websites for my drivers. So under display tab: Name: Matrox MGA G200 AGP Manufacturer: Matrox graphics Chip type: MGA- G200 Dac type: internal Approx total memory: 8 MB Current display mode: 1024X 768 (32 bit) Drivers: mgabdx64.drv Thank you very much
Splitting thread... Just as an idea, create a thread next time. They gain better attention from people. Try going to www.matrox.com and getting the new drivers.
Getting other drivers isn't going to help your graphic card. The minimum "approx total memory" for TS2 is 32mb. You have only 8mb on yours. The only way to change that is to get a better card (preferably one of the Maxis supported cards.) From looking at the Matrox website, it appears that your card is for business purposes but for graphics oriented ones. It sounds like it would be a good company if you had a newer card. (Most cards made now usually have a minimum of 64mb, and more likely either 128mb or 256mb.) It's a very uncommonly seen company. It does offer better cards but none of them are supported for use in TS2. (Intel, Nvidia and Radeon are the only companies with supported cards.) http://www.matrox.com/mga/home.htm is the manufacturer's main page. As an owner of a card you could probably get more information from them (as I suspect they don't show the driver upgrade information unless you are registered.)
