  1. Warning! About IGN

Just to give everyone a heads up I wouldn't recommend visiting IGN at the moment until they remove the ads that are transmitting viruses/spyware/etc to your computer. I picked up 8 viruses/etc including a key logger from their site ads. I was able to successfully remove all of it with spyware doctor thankfully.

swmeek I got your benevolent dictator pal!!

Was this even with running a spyware detector and your firewall working?
Did you actually click the ads or what ?
I never for one thing click any ads on any site!
You never know what it is you're going to get ahold of.
Plus my pop blocker is always on too!

    Coincidental perhaps?

  5. I didn't click any of the ads (nor do I ever click on ads). Google Chrome gave me a warning message before entering the site about something with malware coming from ads.ign.com. I use Avast, spyware doctor (Google edition), and Windows Firewall.

    Could be a false alarm.

  7. I don't believe so this time. I ran a quick scan with Spyware doctor before entering the site and it found nothing, i visit a few pages of the site and exit Google chrome and do a quick scan and it finds 7 infections (Trojans, key logger, etc). I repeated that and once again its finds about 8 infections. Its coming from IGN ads.

What did you use to scan your system?

Hmm... I wonder if it's overly sensitive.
