What TV shows do you remember> What TV Shows do you remember? I still remember shows like: Cardcaptors Max Steel I Love Lucy The Agency yours?
Well Josh...of those names I only remember "I Love Lucy" but she was a bit before my time even! :O Is this a hint as to how old you really are?! Some of my favorites as a kid were the shows like "F Troop" and "Hogan's Heroes". I even had (dare I admit it?) a fondness for "Davey and Goliath". I even remember a few episodes of "Mr. Ed" and being intrigued with a talking horse rather than the non-talking horses we had on our farm. The rotten horses we had would buck you off before they told you that they had a burr under their saddle!! :hurt: Those are just a few...I will have to reminise (sp?) and think of some more!
I took my last examinations at the place where the BBC put out the first broadcast on English tv. I understand that if it had not been for Hitler, we might have had tv a bit earlier.
If it werent for Hitler a lot of things would have been out sooner, and a lot of things wouldnt have happened... *sigh* But the Luftwaffe did have the first working jet fighter. Now where's that darned alternate universe fluxtuator of mine? I remember shows like "The Simpsons", "CSI", "The West Wing", "24", "Meet the Press", "That 70's Show" and so on. . o O (Those are all current shows!) I thought I told you to shut up Brain! *sticks head in microwave and turns it on High for 20 mins* Mmmmm... radioactive...
I remember shows like Cheers and The Wonder Years. I used to watch those back whenever they were still on. There's also probably countless cartoons that I used to watch and still remember, but I don't feel like admiting that I watched some of them. I still watch some of those old shows if they show the reruns on TV.
Have you ever had these things with computers. I wrote a long note for this and the web site said it wouldn't accept it because it was too busy, so it tore it up and threw it away. Just think what a Secretary would get from his/her boss if he/she did that? (I deliberately use the he/she system, because I, too, could be a Secretary, but I do not look very decorative on a lap).
Wow, you're even more looney than I am. To answer your question: Yes I have. Sometimes on this site, tho thru no fault of the server. It's mostly cos of my stupid pootor and its IE. I'm actually trying to fix it now. It's getting worse and worse.
Why am I even more looney than you are? I can write shorthand (please don't ask me to read it back) at about 100 wpm and I can type. My best typing speed was around 120 words per minute (yes - really.) So why shouldn't I be a Secretary? I could be and I would like to have been but, as I said, I would not look very decorative on the bosses lap - but, perhaps I might if the boss were a woman?
That "Sitting on your boss's lap" comment was... atypical, lets just put it at that, but if it was a female boss then i can see its allure . That other way around would certainly be better tho.
That was a very very sexist remark. Why should it look better for a woman to be on a man's lap, but not for a man to be on a woman's lap? I think I might look not quite like the hunchback of Notre Dame if I were sat on the lap of some attractive woman. But have you tried writing shorthand in such a silly position?
Lol Philip...the image of you sitting on the lap of some woman taking dictation just had me cracking up!! I think that the reason most of us think of a girl sitting on a guy's lap isn't sexist it is just the image of some overweight guy crushing the legs of some poor sweet thing that stops us from thinking in reverse.... *"I've finished the dictation Miss Smith...What your legs are broken? Excuse me, I'll quickly go call 911!"*
(OT: Just bought some mayan sweet onions and my oh my are they good) But the earliest ones I remember are Sky King, Leave it to Beaver, Father knows Best, Dennis the Menace, Dark Shadows (a soap), and Lassie. Most of the above in black and white.
Cos i'm playing the "all men are sexist pigs" card. Dang it! I'm having to explain one of my extremely hilarious joke again!
No, Phillip. I have never tried writing shorthand while sitting on someones lap. I can't imagine it's very easy.
