Which one should I buy Hello. I have been a fan of the sims since S1 and picked up S2 awhile ago and have gotten way into it. After a lot of fun with it I found that I wanted more and turned my sightes to the two (almost three) expansions. I only have enough for one expack and can't decide if I want to go with University, Nightlife or the upcoming Open for Buisness. Which one would you guys recomend for me? I am eagerly awaiting your input. Thanks MagorienX
Hi, Once you have more money, you'll probably want to buy another EP, if you're anything like me ... I've been seduced by the idea of what you get with "Biz" even though I said I wouldn't get it ... With that in mind, you may want to buy Uni first. It adds a lot of functionality, and is fun to play for a while, though NL adds a lot to college life (like a life off campus, for starters ...) and to all sims. If on the other hand you think you'll only buy one, that's a toss up. I can't say anything about the business pack because it's not out yet, but between Uni and NL I'd say, Uni has more features, NL is more fun to play. However, like I said if you think you'll be seduced by the dark side you may want to buy them in order. I've heard it's best to install them that way. You could always do a reinstall of course but that may harm sims you already have in play, if for example they were NL sims only. Sorry, it's late. Hope that makes sense. Just my two cents. I'm by no means an expert on the technical stuff, just an avid player.
Besides the fact that it's better if you install them in order (Uni comes before Nightlife), the features that you get with Uni include more career options available to college graduates. I bet that you'll enjoy the Uni expansion long enough to save money for the Nightlife EP. A dollar a day, seems to me, will add up pretty fast.
EP's are like Lays Potato Chips: Can't eat just one. I concur that it would be easier on you to get UNI first and then start saving for NL. And then OFB. And so on, and so on, and so on. I really must stop watching so many tv comercials.
Always buy the most recent expansion pack at the time of purchase, because that version contains the newest versions of game and object codes. Much of what is in an older expansion quietly tags along with new ones. Really, though, maybe you should cut back on some unnecessary expenses, like food. It takes you nearly a month to starve to death, and the savings you gain from not eating will more than pay for an expansion pack. Besides, you can always eat rats.
