Will I be O.K. for Bon Voyage? I was just wondering, I have all the e.p's and all the s.p's (excluding H.M. stuff) and i was wondering, to prepare for Bon Voyage, should i delete some of them? (I am just writing everything it says under the catergory) Specs: 1. AMD Athlon (tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4200+, MMX, 3DNow, (2 CPUs) 2. 1920 MB RAM 3. Microsoft Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600) 4. 45.4 GB 5. 182 GB 6. DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904) 7. NVIDIA GeForce 6100 8. Main Driver: nv4_disp.dll, Version: 6.14.0010.8133, Date: 9/18/05 9. 256.0 MB 10. Sims 2 CD, Uni, NL, OFB, Pets, Celebration Stuff, Family Fun Stuff, Glamour Life Stuff, Happy Holiday Stuff, and Seasons. All CD's. 11. There really is no problem. If this is in the wrong spot, (I am almost positive it is) PLEASE MOVE
Oh, let's go wild and leave it here, eh? I see no reason why you will find Bon Voyage problematic. The main problem area with this expansion will likely be the beach surf ... I suspect it'll crucify my poor old FX 5600 and it was sooo at the cutting edge of "cheap" 3 years ago. Now I am in a quandary and trying to eek things out another 12 months before a total upgrade to a duo core, PCIe and Vista ....
I'm seriously thinkling of getting Pets off my system. It was such a let down, and i use almost nothing of it. The only thing i use is the werewolves. And Pets takes up a decent chunk of space. Hmm... Thanks for the answer Mirelly.
I'm stuck with Pets. My kid likes it too much. :( But I agree it's the most expendable EP. If you're worried about that computer mine's going to be in big trouble. I'm not sure I'm going to get bon voyage, fun as it looks. But I've said that about almost every EP.
Aw ... poor puddy-tats and puppy-wuppies Jazz, you don't have any space problems from what I can see. If you don't use the pets items then they aren't clogging your game. My system: Athlon XP2800+ 2.1 GHz 1024 RAM FX 5600 <> 256 MB C: [System & Programs] 17GB free (of 55GB) D: [Documents & Back Ups] 17GB free (of 56GB) I have a spare 120GB HD laying around but I am too idle to install it and reformat putting WinXP and Programs on one drive and keeping the other for docs Anyway. I have my settings up high, including reflections. Neighborhood view is set at medium and I don't have too many problems with lag .... I even leave the byte hungry Norton System Works running ... have to actually cos turning it off is nigh on impossible :( Mind you I blame my succuess on RAMbooster wot keeps working faultlessly in keeping my RAM optimised to the max. No-one should operate without RAMbooster because it is free, it does what it says on the lid, and it does it without hogging a byte more than it can help (which is more than can be said for a similar product with an identical name that costs serious money ... don't get ripped off) ... and finally because it is a neat little red and black icon next to your clock wot you can hover over to see how much RAM you currently have available .... For example, today I snapped Betty Centowski having a tantrum after Alvin Futa rejected her proposal that they go steady ....
Aah! Norton! The Computer-slower-downer! I usually just pause it when i play. Then play it when i'm done. I have my graphics pretty low, because lag is a sought out enemy of mine. I think i should set them up.
Let us know if it helps and how much, Odinmoon. OK? BTW it is only a 3MB download so even dial up net users have no excuse for not trying it.
RAMBooster, eh? So it works? No viruses hidden with the downloading? No problems while using it? I have to say, I like the idea of free RAM. But it seems too good to be true! I think I have fairly good graphics on my computer. I'm using a slightly older one now than the one that I used before (which was a brand new Windows XP). It had AMAZING grafics!! But of course that computer had to go and get itself "all spazed up" (like my friend likes to say) so that I can't play sims on it. So off to the old computer it is.
Which gets me thinking of something funny that happened the other day. When I downloaded Merola's Multipainting and installed it on my PC, it made my game go really really slow while I'm playing it. I thought that was because it was a big hack. So the other day, I found another hack (Shop at home coat rack -- It's GREAT!! No more snail slow DT trips.) and installed that along with tons of other beautiful downloads. So I played my game to test the new stuff out, right, and tadaa! it wasn't snailing along anymore. Thanks very much Shop At Home coat rack! You quickened up my game! Fab-tastic.
