Will my computer support the Sims 2?

Hi I just got a brand new Dell Dimension 8400! Below are the specs, I was just wondering if my game will run smoothly enough to play the game.

Pentium 4 3.6 GHz Processor with 800 MHz FSB
1 GB DDR SDRAM, 400 MHz
128MB PCI Express ATI Radeon X300 SE Video Card

Thanks for replying I appreciate it! Hehe, I can't wait to get the computer, I am soo excited! Before I had a Dell Dimension 2100 with 1.1 GHz and 256 MB RAM and 64 MB Video card, and the gameplay was ok. I mean it was slow loading, but once I started playing and stuff. It performed ok and some of the options were on high.

Congrats on your new "Toy" Kevin! :) I'm jellous. I keep trying to get Hubby to upgrade ours, and he even seriously looked at getting us a new tower, but decided that doing all that just so I could play TS2 better was like supplying a drug addict with paraphanalia. So, for right now, stuck with the old PC, which is a Dell 80-something, a GeForce 5500, and, oh, I can't remember what my specs are now. I need caffene and we're out of pop and I'm still in my pj's on this Saturday morning!

It does better now that Hubby upgraded the graphics card. Before it was a little slow and grainy. I have a long loading time but I also have a touch of the female affliction known as Sim-shopaholism so I have a very full downloads folder, plus many mods and hacks that mess with the natural loading process. My computer will be 3 years old this Christmas, and except for needing an upgraded processor and memory, it does very well. It really doesn't need it for anything but TS2. All the other games we play function beautifully.

Oh that's great Kristal! I wish computers were a lot cheaper, I mean people say they've gotten cheaper. But which kinda computer got cheaper, the CHEAPER made computers LOL! So it's like umm ok they've gotten soo cheap! Yeah I can't wait to see how the computer plays the sims 2. And by the way, I didn't buy the Dimension 8400, I bought a Dimension 5100 with 3 GHz P4, 512 MB Ram and GeForce 6800 256 MB video card. I took RandomZero's advice and did that. Because memory is a lot cheaper than buying a graphics card. Plus I wanna be able to play nightlife like no other hehe!
