Will The Sims 2 work on my Mac OS X 10.4? I really want this game but I'm not sure if it will work. It's a powerbook and my CPU processer is a G4. Has anyone ever tried it on this kind of computer? If you have, I want to know if it works because I don't want to buy it and waste my money. Thanks. (The CPU speed of my computer is .87 it says it requires 1.2GHz)
I'd be a bit concerned about The Sims 2 running with a CPU speed of .87Ghz...I have a G4 Powerbook running at 1 Ghz, and the game runs pretty well, but it does lag a bit...any lower speed that that, and I would think the game would be too slow.
I am running Sims2 and University on a G4 Powerbook with absolutely no problems, but the computer is new. Rob.
I really wouldn't try it under the minimums. I was been over at Apple Discussions lately, and they've been complaining on machines that just meet the minimums. Under the minimum, and I don't know. -John
Yours might run a bit laggy Im running a 1.42 GHz and, it gives me the lags here and there, but does work fine. By the way, Im playing sims 2, university, and nightlife.
i have just brought the sims 2 dvd pc game, but it doesn't have autoplay and i can't find the setup.exe file either, is this because i have to buy the mac version? i have a macbook which does have a dvd rom.. any advice? x
Yes, if you have a Macintosh, you must have and install the mac version. Furthermore, TS2 is not supported on MacBooks, as far as I know. Their graphics card isn't listed as compatible by Aspyr... or at least, it wasn't last I checked. If you mean a MacBook Pro, on the other hand, that's a different story.
I'm running mine on a G4 and it works apsolutly fine. But you obviously need to buy the game made for macs not pcs.
