"You are running the wrong version..." Advise needed!

Hello people,

I just installed the fresh H&M Fashion stuff on my girlfriends computer and now Sims won't start no more. When trying to run the game via the correct link on the desktop I get You are running the wrong version of The Sims 2. Please run The Sims Pets instead."

She has Open for Business and Pets installed (in that order). And Pets was running with no problems before. Now just cleanly installed H&M and this error. There were no installation errors.

Hope somebody can give me some advice, I am lost!

Hi. Do you run the game with Pets disk?

 

Thans for the quick reply. No I'm running it with the H&M disk inserted. And the system is a brand new Vista laptop.

 

Hi you need to use the Pets disk.

Hey, I have exactly the same problem! but my pets cd broke, so does it mean I can't play?? that's bs! help!!

 

Would a no-cd patch work for that?

 

Illegal? Isn't it legal if you use it for your own copy of the game to prevent the loss of ability to play the game if you happen to lose your CD? I've seen it being distributed legally.

 

Maxis still considers it illegal and has designed the game to only play with the disc in the drive. A no-cd crack will not work with the Sims2. Since maxis does not support it and considers it illegal WorldSims supports their decision and stands behind them. End of discussion.
