What new Sims 2 Expansion packs do you thinks next?

    Hey all,
What Expansion pack do you thinks next?
i hope they make one like "Making Magic" that was one of my fave old sims games
    :stirthepot:

Or do you think the next ones gonna be like "Vacation"?
    :airplane:

I was gonna suggest that they make one like "Super Star" but we'v already got the music kit in Night Life.

Let me know what yall think the next ones gonna be.

    Thanks Slightly_Wacky.

i hope the same, it would be great if they made an expansion like "making magic" for sims 2 :) but i really believe that they are already working on sims 3...

Talk of TS3 is extremely premature. A new version would need a quantum leap in some aspect of the sims' virtual world. For example merely adding one or two new features would not be enough. For example the ability for sims to go "walk-about" (crossing out of one lot to the one next door), or synchronized time (no going off to a community lot at 8am and returning 12 hours later at 8:30am). TS1 upgraded into TS2 by transitioning from fixed camera positions to full 3D. An putative TS3 would need a lot more wow than just better graphics ... apart from which too many players have graphical issue with TS2 so what hope for a more densely richer version?

I'd buy into a 3rd generation if it concentrated on introducing a richer game play engine where sims don't don't do utterly stupid things like set 4 plates at a table with four chairs and then sit in one of the chairs and eat from a 5th plate buffet style. TS3 sims would have the Spore technology to animate on the fly ... to climb over fences that are scalable, to move furniture that reason suggests is moveable (both because it is in the way and also to put it back so it can be used if it has previously been moved away), to get out of bed by crawling to the end if someone has happened to leave something up near the head end. Finally realtionships in TS3 should be more meaningful and realistic with sims being more empathic, more altruistic. The average TS1/TS2 personality would give psychopaths a good name.

LOL - So true, Mirelly! Those little Sims can be utterly heartless at times!

As for TS3 - I too would be happy if they concentrated more on the game engine, and not so much the graphics. I think the graphics are really pretty good. You start going for much better graphics, and you start cutting out players on limited budgets.

Besides, The Sims is not a "total immersion" type of game, such as Castlevania, or WoW (or so I've heard, having never played the latter). Those types of games rely much more on graphics to make you feel as if you were there! The Sims is really much more of a storytelling type of game. I don't need to "feel" the game, so much as be able to create an environment and/or situation that I can either control, or just let go to see what happens...

I'm not quite sure what kind of expansion they're going to make (maybe that's why they put in a flyer for the stuff pack instead!), but isn't that Will Wright's Spore game coming out this year? I think that's more of the next step that's going to be taken rather than a next generation Sims. Gosh how many generations of Sims games can a company make? Then again, I'd ask the same thing about Playstations and Xboxes but that question's already been answered.

Im still lost about what Spore is all about... I did go to their official website, and saw their screenshots. Is the game a RPG game? Or am I missing something?

Spore is about starting off with a single celled creature swimminng in an ocean and "evolving" it thru various stages until can build space ships and take over the galaxy. It will rely on the internet to share creatures so that your own creature will always have local competition that will automatically downloaded from teh intarweb.

Spore seems to be a great game :) i just can't wait to have it, but it seems that i have to wait a long time i have read in Amazon that it will be released only on December 12, 2007...

Personally, I'd like EA to carry on making Sims 2 games because they seem to just get better and better. But I'm not sure if there will be anymore Ex-packs, just a load of stuff packs - which is a bit dissapointing because I don't really like the stuff packs that much.

As for the Vacation: I think they're cooking up something like that right this minute. Which would be nice  (just think of going to some nice place with your sims *dreams*).

And what I'd really like in the next Ex-pack is that you're sims would be able to go out of there lot and have a walk around the neighbourhood with their dog or see the nextdoor neighbours. Like, being able to go to your neighbour to borrow a cup of sugar or something. But I'd really like to see what my nextdoor neighbours are doing. It doesn't really matter if they can borrow sugar or not lol. And I really like the way that the game has gone from your sims just living in an empty patch with no trees as far as the eye can see to being able to see every tree, every rock, every house near your lot ;) . It makes the game much more appealing.

I can't say that I don't like the idea of Spore cos I'm just liking it more and more the more I read about it :)D)!! But starting off with your creature being a cell seems a bit confusing to me... And I really hope that they don't make the game too heavy on your computer. I think the original Sims 2's 4GB was a bit much from the start cos if you have a very old computer (like I had at the time) it takes up all your memory and the game gets too slow to buy any other Expacs. But thank goodness I got a new computer so that I could get lots of packs without it being the least bit slow :)

Anyways, my point is: I hope they make more Expansionpacks before TS3 comes out (is it going to be called TS3 or Spore??)

    Ta.

I dont think Im really excited to play Spore, since I dont quite get what kinda game it is like, but I guess it will be better than what I think it is :D

Im hoping more sims will be released, meaning sims3 or something, I really love playing sims1 and sims2, and it would be sad if there's none in future. But obviously, there cant be sims10 or so on, so I guess all things eventually come to an end :(

    I agree with Mirelly,
If there is to be a creation of TS3 then surely it would have to excite people with the thought of the game having more realistic things to do rather than just better graphics, for example walking into your house and hanging your coat up, or maybe even having your sim drive around in their car with you directing them what side of the road to drive on, or which direction to go. Either that or have driving as a new skill they can learn, maybe even have driving school for teenagers and adults to learn to drive. If they havn't got enough skill then they could have a fatal car crash when driving along. That would teach them a lesson.

Maybe go with your child sim or teenage sim to school on the bus, go with them to their lessons and make them either a good student or one that misbehaves.

There are loads of different ideas you could have for TS3, you'd just need a computer with A LOT of memory. :]

I agree all those would be awesome,
and if they had pets in TS3, they should be controllable instead of havening to use a cheat to control them.
I think they should make it so you can take out loans, and stuff. that would be cool,
anyone els think of things they should put in TS3?
    :D

I think it'd be neat to have the kids be able to help cook with their parents or grandparents to gain cooking skills--and have more fun doing it than the Fun: 1 with the stove thing they have now. Plus I think it'd be cute for the grandkids to help out the grandparents.
Also, things like mowing the lawn, vacuuming, dusting...things "normal" people have to do.

More careers!! I thought that with the Pets EP, there'd be pet careers. Nope!

    Bassoonist Bassoons rock!

None of the remaining EPs they haven't imitated were any good.

Whatever it is they have next I hope it adds more musical instruments. Guitar and piano are far from all of the instruments that have been made. I like the piano, though. :p I just hope they at least attempt to satisfy me by maybe just putting another instrument like the violin or saxophone.

    ...but I doubt they will.:(

I also hope they make something creative, but I doubt that as well... they're stuck on that stupid pattern that they set for themselves and the next will surely be a repeat of a past EP. At least they did good with Seasons... I more then likely won't buy the next EP unless they add more musical instruments. XD
