My Movie! http://thesims2.ea.com/mysimpage/mysimpage.php?user_id=661085 After several months of gathering footage, I finally created my movie. A little racy but hey... Enjoy
You have to have some sort of movie-editing software to get something like I made. I use Windows Movie Maker, it's a part of the "Entertainment" bundle that came with my computer. Anyway, you can take shots by clicking the "movie" button on the lower left-hand corner (beside the snapshot button) You have to play with the graphics and game settings to get it just right. I have to take them at a lower setting because my computer is not top-of-the-line, and sometimes it really slows things down. Anyway, your software will tell you how to import the clips into it and how to edit them together. It's really trial and error. Then, add on a music clip to set the mood, and there you have it, a movie! Let me know when you get one done and uploaded to the exchange, I'd love to see it.
Wow, Chee-Z, I didn't know some of those expressions and actions were even possible in the Sims ... or were those "movie enhanced"? What a great movie. Thanks for sharing!
Bloodly Fantastic That was fantastic and im really jealous cause i cant run the sims2 on my computer and i was hoping the console version would be just as good no such luck. So keep them coming and give me my fix of the sims2. Thank you
Perhaps they were done using the boolprop reaction box (or Paul's Reaction Tester.) (There are so many things that are useful for making Sims movies. Decorgal's FAQ is a really good place to start if you want to find those things.)
I must've been pretty lucky when I filmed some of the shots. Most of them were candid shots of moments that I wanted to record. I didn't realize that I was capturing some lovely expressions as well. I have a song or two picked out for my next movie...teehee...Nightlife movie, whee! Wonder what mischief my neighborhood will get into this time?
Ok, I hate to bring something back from the dead, but apparently someone beat me to the punch in terms of submitting my movie Jerk It Out on Youtube. This guy on Youtube submitted my movie and claims it to be his own; he submitted it 11 months ago, whereas I submitted my movies 7 months ago. He's getting tons of hits and comments for it, along the line of "OMG THIS IS AWESOME!" Unfortunately I have no way of clearing my name, even though the silly person didn't even edit the movie and remove MY name from the credits. BUT he can claim that he's Chee-Z. But I'M Chee-Z. I had originally hosted the movies on my Sim page, as you all can see, in September of 2005. I go by BeckerCheez on Youtube (as well as a bunch of other places) and I go by ChzyMffn on The Sims 2 website. I go by Chee-Z on the forums I go to, like 1up and 1up Retreat and MATY and this one. I know this is not a big deal, as my work isn't copyrighted. But first I was pissed to see that he was claiming my work to be his and was DEMANDING people rate the movie and DEMANDING that people comment. Now I'm just sad that I didn't enable comments. Now I'm afraid that someone would call me a plagiarist if I did. BUT! I made it first! WTH!? There's really nothing I can do, since this guy can just claim he's me and people will tell me to STFU. And I'm not sure if Youtube really gives a crap since they have millions of movies submitted every single day. They even have copyrighted stuff on there and they don't do a thing about it. :( Here's this guy's page. Here's mine.
If I could remember my Youtube password and log in name I'd post something there, Chee-Z. Maybe I'll remember in a little while. I can't fathom why people steal someone else's art. What do they get out of it? They haven't earned any comments they get (except the You're-a-thief comments.) It's totally stupid.
Lynet, there should be a password recovery link. I'm pretty sure that all you need is your email address.
Looks like the same movie to me, Chee-Z. That's horrible, that someone would steal from you. But his was earlier ... how did he do it? Did you have it posted somewhere else, first? If so you can prove you did it first and maybe petition YouTube to take his off the air.
Funny movies Sad that it got stolen. I would partition Utube about it. I think that they should have better control in their forum. Keep up the good work.
Yes, I have found that one can easily right click and "save target" to videos hosted on The Sims 2 MySim pages, which was where I had hosted my video first. I also have the video hosted on Gametrailers.com but I'm not sure if one can easily save it to the harddrive. As you can see from the original post in this very thread, I had started letting people view my movies in September 2005, which was a year before Mr. Egghead had hosted my movie on his youtube page. Bingo! http://www.gametrailers.com/umwatcher.php?id=1747 May 2006! The reason I had submitted these moves to Youtube was so that I could link them on my web project I had made in November. So Chee-Z has her own website. Can you really petition to get movies removed? That'd be great!
OK. I got it. I registered with Youtube 6 months ago on a whim and haven't been back since then. I have a 3 x 5 card with most of my login names and passwords. Youtube I missed. Watched it again, Chee-Z. It's great fun.
