Recording birth causes freeze Whenever I try to take a close up, "filmmaker mode" (TAB) phot of my sim giving birth, at the moment of the birth, the view moves forward (so I can only see part of the pregnant sim) and the game freezes. This is very annoying b/c I keep forgetting to save, and the only way to get out of the game is CRTL+ALT+Delete. What is going on?
Sorry kid but it is important to know more. Question 1: have you got special event movies enabled? Question 2 will follow the answer to question one or maybe you could just tell us as much information as you can give as possible ... eh? moi being a bit sarcastic all of a sudden??? No! Surely not. I just performed brain surgery on my PC to improve the cooling on my VGA core ... I couldn't possibly be sarcastic with my fingers covered in gooey white thermal compound grease ... the same stuff is also on the cat, the curtains and my best jeans
Lol to brainsurgery. I have been known to take things apart and reassemble them for entertainment purposes (as you can see,I have no social life.) I have no expansion packs, have a few downloads, SimPE, InSiminator. Game bought legally. Use boolProp testingCheats always. (Game is set to automatically be in debugging mode w/SimPE). Special events camera is not on, nor is PIP or anything else. I was in the filmaker mode when this happened. I haven't been able to go into the game recently due to another problem. (thanks for your help with that, will try turning off default boolProp.)
LOL I strongly recommend disabling that set-up. If you have few hacked or modded downloads then the testing cheats are unlikely to be needed. Most of the necessary gameplay cheats can be done more safely and easier with Merola's multipainting ( simchaotics.com ) and with the moveobjects cheats. The testing cheats tend utterly to screw up a game unless used very sparingly and then with extreme caution to rectify a stuck object or to force closed an endless loop and turned off again immediately after. I am so pleased with my surgical interventions. My display suddenly started to break up on Sunday and the game froze forcing a Ctrl/Alt/Del to end the sims.exe. I opened the case and found the heat-sink on the GPU core to way too hot to hold onto ... I estimate that it was exceeding 60 degs (Celsius ) so heaven knows what the actual core's temperature was at!! My poor FX5600 I soon realised that its utterly pathetic little fan wasn't working so decided action was urgent. I replaced the fan with a heatpipe and sink and also replaced the main case fan with a new variable speed one (hung it on a rubber suspension kit to keep the noise down) ... the new fan has a thermocouple, which I stuck on the VGA's shiny new heatsink to force it up to full power when the temp goes over 55 celsius. Even on full speed it's quieter than it was and when the machine is left alone I can hardly hear it at all. Oh yeah and The Sims seems to run better as well with slightly less lagging when moving around ... though that might be wishful thinking ... Oops digression ... I guess I just wanted to share ...
Goodbye to boolprop. Well, I supose that good things can't last forever, so I will diasable boolProp. I really love the Merolian paintings, and have downloaded many J.M.P hacks/mods, so I supose its for the best. Lol again to your CPU-surgery. Will try to install a memory upgrade sometime, all by myself (let's just hope I don't wreck the PC.) Have had difficulty with my internet, so I was more than overjoyed to hear my mom signed us up for fios(fiber-optic internet). When that comes, will be downloading so much I will probably need to get some more memory (wouldn't it be great if we could upgrage our brains!?). Thanks for your help, Mirelly, I really apreciate it.
