Amazing Race 6!! On November 16, eleven Teams of two people, each with a pre-existing relationship, will set out on THE AMAZING RACE around the world to compete for one million dollars. They'll never know where they're going next or what they'll have to do once there. Each pair's relationship will be forever changed by their experience in this once-in-a-lifetime adventure. Once again, our website will track the Teams' progress across the globe, chronicling dramatic conflicts and deepening friendships that develop between and within the Teams throughout the grueling competition. A fight over a pair of sunglasses brings one Racer to tears and leads the Team to a deep discussion about their relationship. A Detour proves to be incredibly exhausting and painful as one Racer finds it nearly impossible to remain standing. At the Pit Stop, one Team gets an unexpected penalty. Will it cost them the Race? One Team uses wits and charm to get the help of a local who takes a ride with them. Struggling over how to navigate causes some serious infighting for one Team that ends with one teammate demanding an apology from the other and creating a spectacle. One Team is hit with a surprise leaving the Pit Stop that lights a fire under them to race hard for the entire leg. A simple Detour task turns grueling driving several teams to switch tasks out of frustration, and bringing another team to its knees with exhaustion. One Racer is touched by the effort of her teammate, who battles through what seems like an impossible task. Will the Racer's persistence pay off in the end? During a Detour, a screaming match between teammates prompts sideline comments from other Teams. Could the constant bickering cause the Team to break down? Race Report: THE AMAZING RACE Bulletin, Issue 3 Four Teams fall behind when some locals give them bad information. One teammate gets sick while trying to complete a Detour. To the Team's surprise, it helps them accomplish the task quicker. One seemingly fit Racer struggles through a Roadblock, watching others easily complete the task, taunted and chided all the while by the teammate watching in frustration from the sidelines. Overcome by his partner's effort during a task, one Racer breaks down in tears of appreciation. (They are Norwegian sweet rolls with custard and coconut). For sightseeing, we loved Geiranger Fjorden. Take the ferry there and have a ride of a lifetime. Beautiful waterfalls, breathtaking mountains, deep blue water: incredible. When in doubt, ask a Norwegian for their recommendation. Almost everyone speaks English very well. While completing a Detour, one team member takes the liberty of sampling the handled goods to the exasperation and disgust of fellow Racers. Tempers flare during a rush for tickets at the airport where one Team is angered by two Teams working together. A footrace to the Pit Stop brings one team to the breaking point. SWEDEN Hot dogs, mashed potatoes and warm blueberry soup Jan, San Francisco, CA I packed up my bicycle and flew from San Francisco to Stockholm to take part in the largest race in the world, the Vaetternrundan. It's a 300 km (185 mile) one-day circuit around the second-largest lake in Sweden. Riders start the race in groups of 80 at two-minute intervals from Friday afternoon until Saturday morning. 18,000 cyclists riding in the Swedish countryside: it was fantastic. While riding in a taxi, a Team member irritates the driver to the point of getting the pair kicked out. Teams are required to drive cars unlike any they've ever seen before. During a run-in with the law, one Racer pours on the charm to miraculously turn the situation to their benefit, while the teammate looks on in amazement. Transportation proves disastrous for one Team as they find themselves left behind. How will this setback affect their game? SENEGAL The island of Gore speaks for itself: beautiful water with an amazing story Noel, Taunton I was born and raised in Dakar, Senegal. I came here in 1991 and I am honored to see my native land shown on national television. It is exactly as pictured: poverty, hard labor and looking any way to make a buck or get publicity. We do not normally get any recognition or acknowledgement from a big country like the USA. The pink lake (Lac Rose) is one of my favorites, especially at high noon, because the sun's rays brighten the water.
