Kicked out of college? This has now happened twice! It's starting to not be funny anymore. Both sims were girls living in the Tri-Fruhm sorority house at La Fiesta Tech. Both were at their final exam of sophomore year when a message popped up saying "It's high time that *Name* got back to the real world." Immediately upon her return from her exam, the girl grew up, a cab came, and she got in and left. Why why why? It's got to be a glitch but I wish I knew what was causing it, if anything. When the first girl got back to "the real world" and moved into a house, her life meter didn't have the young adult stage on it, and she only had 4 want slots. Just like she had never been to college at all. The second is still in the sim bin. Has this happened to you?
The only time that has happened to my sim was when I had them harass the dean/teachers non-stop and was thrown out. Perhaps you have a dean/teacher relationship that has gone sour? or your sim just plain flunked her classes..?
This isn't a glitch but I have yet to find an adequate explanation for the whys of hows that lay behind it. It has happened twice to me. The first time to a student at the end of the Freshman year and I put it down to the fact that I hadn't fulfilled enough of his wants to call up his ma and pa ... ie I thought he was going home cos he was homesick I can't remember the details of the second event but they were totally different to the first so I now have no idea at all. Just write it off to experience. The Sims is like life ... some times stuff just happens
This is actually a bug, and I think there was a fix for it, but I forget what it was called. Final Exam Fixes by Twojeffs, maybe.
Please elucidate, oh piscean one. The event I thought we talking about is when a message pops up bearing the news "It is high time that xxxx got back to the real world". How can this be a bug? A bug is a flawed operation resulting in an unplanned result ... since the message text is present and relates properly to the event it cannot be an unplanned event within the the context of gameplay, just darned frustrating and even annoying. However a kosher game event that bugs the player does not count as a bug; instead it is a feature that is crying out for hack or mod. Perhaps this is what you meant in your fishy greatness?
The message text is present because it is supposed to happen when a sim stays on campus too long after completing their senior year. It is not supposed to happen before the sim is finished with school. There are other appropriate messages for when a sim flunks out of school.
Had this occur to me today and I went looking for the mythical Jeffian fix. Didn't find it ... rolleyes: However I found this at MATY (what are the chances of that? as Harry Hill would say ) which reports that Pescado's FFS Lot Debugger may be used after reloading the game to clear a stuck move out option on the affected sim before they go off the exam where they are kicked out. I tried this and it worked. Yaay!
maybe your sim was just dumb and left? like he/she failed their major? its never happened to me though
Oh no this is (as Duzzy Girl said) a definite bug now proven to be caused (at least in part) by a stuck move out token left behind by a previous sim. I've had it occur in a dorm as well as in two different Greek houses (all were custom built lots by me ... maybe I should just give up the architect business )
This means I should move them to a different house then? I was considering moving everyone to Academie Le Tour anyway. I'm kind of getting sick of looking at desert all the time.
I moved a couple households into the old Fraternity Brothers' Greek House in Sim State. Jane Stacks was on Academic Probation and was attending her Junior Second Semester final exam when I got that message. She grew up when she came back and hopped a taxi and left the lot. I moved her into a quaint shack and she retained her 5 want slots. Since I don't particularly care if Jane graduated from college but didn't want her to drop out, I don't mind this outcome. Now I know what caused it.
